Non-stop visits and parties with friends/relatives all weekend have prevented me from updating anything after Thursday...The Forums seem to be down temporarily, and that is 100% out of my control because a different site hosts those forums and they seem to be working on their server...

        Career hitting stats are updated...The pitching will be updated Friday night...8 of the MISC links have been updated...

        The MISC Page links and the Career Stats will be updated over the next 4 days...I'll start updating the MISC Page links THUR night...If time permits, I'll be adding new stuff like Home and Away batting averages dating back to 1999...

        The Trico Forums Page seems to be more active the past few weeks than it ever has...And that's fine, let's continue to keep all the bashing/discussion in there, because I will remove it from the Guest Book...And I will be updating the Career Stats and all of those links on the Miscellaneous Page VERY soon -- I believe I have "punished" everyone who failed to come to the banquet long enough, because all of these stats and more are published annually in the Banquet program...

        Also, POLLS have been added to the site, so we'll throw out a question every now and then and people can VOTE...There can be multiple Polls, so if someone wants to submit a Poll, email Steve and I'll add it...And, I changed the link of the Forums Page so it has an Intro page, displaying what users are currently logged, the moderators, total posts and who made the last post...Just click on "Tri-County League" to enter...

        The Profiles Page has a new look...If anybody has team pictures, feel free to email them to me or contact me for my home address and you can mail them to me (I will mail them back to you after I scan them)...Obviously, after looking at the page, you can see I only have 4 team pictures that I can use...Also, the Website Statistics Page has been updated -- at last -- on the MISC Page...

        I was on vacation at Virginia Beach for 8 days and came back to find that I cannot access the website due to a server problem...I got in through a backdoor tonight to simply update the Announcements Page...As soon as I can access the site through MS-Front Page again, I will be updating stats and leaders and I will be making other changes...We now have less than 200 days to go before opening day...

        Email addresses are updated on the website on the Rosters Page, which will soon be moving...If anyone's email address is missing or incorrect, please email Steve...Also, the website has a new email address...It's been updated on the Email Steve Page...And I have sent an email out to all players (who I have an email address for) notifying them that there is now a distribution list for this website...I will be sending out notification emails to everybody who wants to be on this list every time the site has a "major" update...All players with listed email addresses are on the list now...Any fans or non-players who want to get a notification email letting them know when the site has been updated -- email Steve...

        The Banquet went well, with just over 100 people in attendance...The Hall of Fame Page is updated...Any Hall of Famer or family member of a Hall of Famer who wants to add pictures and/or more information to their page, please email Steve and we can get more biographical info and pictures added if you like...Please click on Chuck Ciganick's trophy on the Hall of Fame Page to see a good example...

        Just discovered tonight that the Guest Book has been down since June 11th...Geez...I have all the comments submitted from June 11th to July 1st, and will repost those (some interesting stuff, and I see our BML person, Mr. BML Legend, could not listen to the Guest Book rules)...All comments from July 2nd through Sept. 15th have been accidentally deleted (I never even saw those comments) and I have a ticket placed to FastNet to hopefully restore those, but those comments may be gone forever...When the Guest Book is functional again, and when any comments I find are reposted, I'll let you know here on this page...I'm not putting the Guest Book "under construction" for now...

        A bunch of corrections to stat sheets were posted WED night...The changes won't be reflected in the team stats until I repost those this weekend...If there are any last second changes/mistakes, email me, the stats are all-but-official now, every BB-K-Run-Hit adds up on both sides of the ledger (hitting & pitching sides), missing HRs were found, etc....Whatever I have for this weekend goes into the Banquet program...

        Remember the Banquet is Sept. 28th at the Westend Y.C....All stat sheets are posted and all the links on the stat sheets from 6/24 through 7/26 are fixed...

        The Canadians loved it at Limeport (and with 35 hits in 2 games, I guess they loved hitting there, too), and are looking to make an annual trip...They want to play in July next year, so they can bring "ALL of their best players"...We may look into an "All-Star weekend", play the BML on Friday and the Canadians on Saturday and Sunday and take some extra days off from the regular season...They are great athletes (and they play hockey in October and November)...I called both games in to the Morning Call -- I didn't see anything on Sunday...I will post stat sheets Monday night...

        Unless there is a torrential downpour, we are playing both games today...Some drizzle or some steady light rain will not stop us from playing, they've driven a long way...

        Game "3" has a time change...We are playing one 9-inning game, starting at 11:30 Sunday morning...No batting practice, no infield, get there by 11:00 though, so I can pencil in a lineup...

        It's time for me to get a roster together for the Canadian All-Star Games, August 24-25...It's three 9-inning games, 2 on SAT and 1 on SUN...Preliminary idea (not final) is that Steve Smull will manage both games on SAT, and hopefully, Mike Brosious can manage on Sunday because I have a prior commitment...I'd like 2 volunteers for coaches...We also need at least 9 pitchers who can throw 3 innings each (I'd prefer more than 9 pitchers, actually)...Every pitcher is GUARANTEED to pitch at least one inning, NO EXCEPTIONS...And we need position players...If we get 27 players (3 per position, including DH), then everybody gets to play an entire game...If we get more than 3 players at a position, then there will be some 1/2 games for some people, but there is playing time available...If you can only make one day, that's fine, you don't have to show up on the day you are not playing...Coaches, contact your players and let me know who is available...Players, if you are interested in playing, email Steve and our Officers will pick a team some time next week...Everyone we pick for the roster is GUARANTEED to play...Period...This set of All-Star Games has a priority set on "fun"...We're out to win and make a good showing, but this is not do or die, let's have some fun and league camaraderie with this...

         Stats are updated, but there are at least 4 Banko games missing, 2 ICC games and a few others...Stat sheets will be added either LATE FRI or most likely SAT...

        Remember, for playoff eligibility, to play, you need 9 games appeared in or 20 plate appearances...To PITCH in the playoffs, you need 20 plate appearances or 19 innings pitched...If you have 2 ties, then you need 20 IP...Any questions, call me...

         Players who think they can verbally abuse umpires and create a scene after being tossed and only get a 1-game suspension have another thing coming...We've now handed down a pair of 3-game suspensions over the last 3 days for this unacceptable behavior, and if this continues, 5-game suspensions are next...The weather is getting hotter and so will the tempers, but this kind of behavior will not be tolerated in this league...The umps have had enough of this, and so have I...Be aware: If you thought the umpires have had quick triggers during the 1st month of the season, well, guess what?: I just gave our Assignor permission to let his umpires know that they can be even quicker the rest of this season with ejections, as long as a warning takes place FIRST...If a player(s) continues to shoot his mouth off after a warning -- well, it's Bye-bye...Let's grow up, here...

        The Commish has handed down his ruling on the SW protest of the LT game that was called in the top of the 6th when SW scored 5 runs to tie the game at 7-7 when the umpires banged it because of darkness...His ruling backs the VP's ruling, that the game reverts back to the end of the 5th, and LT wins 7-2. The umpire made the wrong call on the field by saying it was a tie game...League precedent was the foundation for the ruling, we've always reverted back to the previous inning when a game gets called in the top half of the following inning...So LT wins 7-2, the game will not be replayed...The standings now reflect this ruling...

       Now for other issues, the UP @ Banko game is being made up on June 18th...And the Milford at ICC rainout is being played on June 23rd as part of a doubleheader...

        The Rosters Pages are completely updated for every team through 5/26...Let me know if there are any omissions or spelling errors...

        Also, players/managers, excessive verbal abuse toward an umpire after you have been ejected is NOT tolerable in this league...We now have one team under a 5-week probationary period and another manager got a stern warning...If this happens again in 2002, you will get suspended MORE than one game -- each incident will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis...Bottom line: Don't do it...If you get ejected, keep your mouth shut and leave the field, or you will be sitting MULTIPLE games...Any questions, please email or call me...Managers will be getting an email from me about this...And players, if you have ANY issues with umpires, PLEASE email me these issues and I will forward your issues/concerns to the BUA President...The only way problems between players and umpires are going to get resolved is through communication...I am your communication portal to the BUA...The BUA President and at least one of their officers and I have open lines of communication...If there are problems/issues/concerns, you MUST email me and let me know and I will let the BUA know...Please name specific incidents, who the umpires were (or give me the game and I'll find out who they were) and be professional about stating to me what your issue is...We have good umpires in this league...We're trying to keep them AND pick up some more good ones by having our Trico Officers support the umpires in their quest, and OUR quest, to keep the level of hostility between players and umpires to a bare minimum.

        Dave Snyder is looking into what can be done about our "new" baseballs...The consensus seems to be that they are junk...Not one person has told me that these are good balls...The balls get mushy after just an inning or 2, the cover starts to separate from the seams, the seams are too high, the list goes on...Dave will get back to me this week with our options...It's a shame, but we cannot have 2 styles of baseballs being used for the 2002 season...Now managers may have to make decisions on which baseballs to use (the good 2001 Diamonds or the 2002 junk) based on which team they're playing and that shouldn't even be in the equation, so the Officers/Managers must decide on a course of action -- well before the June 27th meeting...Managers, PLEASE call any Officer with suggestions...

        Again, Rosters aren't updated, but ALL transactions are, visit the Transactions Page on the Rosters Page and scroll through it to see all of the roster moves...Also, mistakes do happen with the stat sheets, so it's up to the "Internet Hawks" to catch these mistakes and alert me of these mistakes via email...

        Ok, the Guest Book has now become the War Room...I do not have a problem with this, as long as there is nothing derogatory directed at anyone...It's ok to get issues out in the open, as long as we don't make it personal, and I didn't see anything nasty or personal in there...Player profiles will be worked on this weekend with all the info coming from the contracts the players signed...Managers who haven't gotten the contracts in -- get them in...I will try and make some rounds for pictures...

        Just got back from a wedding in NYC (10:45 p.m.)...Was gone all day...All 4 games were rained out although I did see a comment in the Guest Book questioning why these games were all rained out...For the Scherersville #1 and #5 teams, I do have the Senior League schedule in my possession and see days that both fields are free Sunday afternoon, so Sunday afternoon games at 1:00, 1:30 or 2:00 at Scherersville CAN happen if you get in touch with me and find out what days are open...

        There were 4 stat sheets added on WED...I'm still trying to verify a no-hitter thrown by Jeff Lazowski of Lower Nazareth over Upper Perk Tuesday night...I tried in vain to contact Steve Rush WED night, but the phone was busy...Jeff Moyer of UP was willing to say that Jeff did have a no-hitter, Lower Nazareth says he had a no-hitter, I'm just looking for one more opinion from an eyewitness -- there was one questionable play at 3B...There were 2 more roster changes put on the Transactions Page...If any lines are overlapping on any page, hit the Refresh key or the F5 key...And be sure to hit the Refresh key often between 9:30 and 11:00 p.m. as pages are being updated nightly...

        There were 3 roster moves reflected on the Transactions Page, I'll update the rosters later this week...Home teams, please remember to call game results in to the website ASAP, once I have the results, I call the Express-Times with our scores, so don't wait too much past 10:00, if possible...And, the NY @ ICC game will be made up this THUR, May 16th AT Scherersville #5...I'll be throwing player profiles on the Profiles Page soon, so get those contracts turned in via fax ASAP...Another stat sheet was added to May 11th...

        Our VP has handed down a final decision on the SW @ LT game after Shawn Andrews presented his side, and the final decision is that the game must revert back to the 5th inning since it was called in the top of the 6th...So LT wins the game 7-2...Bruce Sokol has 48 hours to protest the decision and has already done so, submitting in writing his side of the story Monday night...Shawn Andrews has till the end of the week to submit his side to the VP and then the VP will mail both documents to the Commissioner for a ruling...Stay tuned...

        Two of the rainouts from today have been rescheduled...The NY @ Banko game will be June 3rd and the JC @ LT game will be this WED, May 15th...All schedules have been updated on the website...Another stat sheet has been added to the site...

        Parma Pizza will be sponsoring a Pitcher of the Week to go along with our Yocco's Player of the Week...So I will get that page ready...AND, Josh Goodin has agreed/volunteered to cover at least one Trico game a week during the season (except for his vacation week) to write "articles" for the website and give our games some more coverage/exposure...He will get his own page on the site...Any other aspiring writers who are interested in covering games for our website, let me know...

        Late news: L. Twp. protest has been denied, American League rules state that this situation is a "suspended game" situation, and that the high school "revert back to the last inning rule" does not apply...The game will be replayed in its entirety since the Tri-County League never has and probably never will pick up "suspended games" where they have left off, the logistics of having that work are not realistic in an amateur league...L. Twp. will be looking to make this game up between May 15th...

        The Gabelsville @ Limeport game originally scheduled for June 1st has been moved to July 18th...The Milford @ Lower Nazareth game originally scheduled for May 13th has been moved to July 16th...Folks, I'll let these 2 games slide, because these are schedule changes and the season hasn't started yet...But when we get rainouts in May, we are NOT going to be making them up in July...Why?...Well, I can just hear the whining now when we then get rain in July and everyone is backed up with 10 games to finish in 11 days...Rainouts in May will be made up in May or early June, period...

        People who are getting last year's schedules need to hit the "Refresh" key, or the F5 key on the top row of your keyboard...Do this during the season at night when the Scores/Schedules page is being updated constantly so you do get ALL of the scores as they get called in on a nightly basis...There is now a Guest Book so people can leave comments, email addresses, information or whatever...

        Also, the minutes for all of the 2002 meetings have been added on the Meetings Page (I will stay on top of this better for the rest of 2002)...Please check the BLACKLIST from the April meeting and feel free to add or subtract from that list, just email me...While we're on the subject, Lehigh Township has requested that Jose Medina be added to the blacklist for a uniform...Also remember to pay all of your monies owed at the May 8th meeting...

        Rosters Page is updated again...The Transactions Page has been updated with archives...Get preliminary rosters faxed or emailed to me...

        Rosters are updated, but of course, only 4 out of 13 teams have reported preliminary rosters to this point...Also, another schedule change, the Milford at Limeport doubleheader is May 24th, not the 25th, and the June 1st Gabelsville at Limeport game will have to be moved due to a High school tourney, AND, the May 31st Banko A's at Limeport game will have to be moved...The VP and Umpire Assignor have been emailed...Managers, get those Rosters in via email or fax...

        The May 25th South Whitehall @ Lehigh Twp game has been moved to June 2nd due to a field conflict...All schedules on the website have been updated and all appropriate parties have been notified...

        The calendar on the Scores/Schedule page is updated through the end of the regular season...Get your rosters in via email or fax ASAP...In April, our website has gotten hits from the U.S. Military, Canada, Singapore, Mexico, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong, Slovak Republic, Finland and France...I guess we are popular!!...

        The Career pitching stats are updated...Hopefully, I'll get to the MISC links by Sunday and update some of those...Haven't done this in a while, but we have gotten hits this month from Singapore, Saudi Arabia, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Lithuania & Australia...

        Last month we had hits from some of the above countries, plus Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Brazil & Japan. And in January, you can add the United Kingdom, Poland & Hungary to the list.

        The Logo contest winners have been announced...We will be playing an All-Star team from a Canadian baseball league on the weekend of August 24th...We will play 3 games against them, hopefully at Limeport Stadium...The Contacts page has been updated...

        Any team interested in purchasing liability and injury insurance for their team, please call Mike Cunningham...And players, there are several managers who are "on the fence" when it comes to purchasing insurance to protect their players from injury...If you guys want your team to have this insurance, please email me or have your teammates tell your manager that you want to be protected with insurance in case you have an injury...The insurance comes to $20 per player...If you want protection, all it takes is giving your manager a 20-spot, and make sure your team has at least 11 other  players who do the same...And then you are covered in case of injury...

        The first meeting for 2002 is Wednesday, January 9th, 7:00 at the Jordan Athletic Club...We'll discuss whether we're keeping our meetings here for 2002, bylaws changes will be discussed and possibly voted on...Any new teams that want to join the league will have to do so at this meeting...If it snows on the 9th, the makeup date is on the 16th at 7:00...
