| 2007 Comments: George Horn returns for his
30th season to restore some normalcy to the franchise after a very
rough start to the 2006 season under "different management"...Horn and
Matt Smull did manage to have the Longhorns finish the season 9-9
after a 5-11 start under that "different management" to finish
percentage points out of the final playoff spot with a 14-20-2 record,
quite a feat, to finish with a better record than the 2005 Longhorns
considering all the players lost from the 2005 team (a 13-20 team)...Cetronia
loses Rookie of the Year Jim Young, so they will rely heavily on
returnees Randy Redman (.302), Ryan Schmidt (.303), Adam Jaindl and
Jeff Mazalewski and newcomers George U. Horn and Teague Fatzinger to
get the offense going and will need solid seasons from pitchers Jake
Feist (4-3), Schmidt (3-2, 3.29 ERA), Josh Hunter, Chris Hendricks and
Mazalewski... |
